Vienna really has to be the highlight of my trip. It really even ranks above Turkey which was the other highlight of my trip. A one night stay was extended to 3 nights. Every building we walked past was incredible. We spent three days just looking at the facade of buildings and did not even have time to visit museums.

We did however line up for 2 hours to get tickets for the standing area for Oneginn, a ballet at Staatsoper. For 3.50 Euros (as compared to 240 Euros for a seat) it was worth it. However if standing still for 30-45 mins straight with a 10 minute intermission is not your thing...you may not enjoy it.

You really had to visit Vienna to understand how beautiful it is and I understand why it is second in ranking with Melbourne and Geneva for the most liveable city. It is a city that I can imagine working in. The only set back was that pretty much nothing was opened on Sunday including supermarkets and shopping centres.

The weather really is similar to Melbourne – 4 seasons in one day.
